Little St. Simons Island Beach With seven miles of pristine, Atlantic Ocean beach, Little St. Simons Island offers the perfect setting for long walks, nature exploration and solitude. The beaches and the island experience itself provide a chance to truly escape . Glory Beach Access to this sprawling beach is by way of a long boardwalk, which crosses sand dunes and freshwater pools. Views of beautiful Little Cumberland Island add to its charm. No pets are allowed. South Beachview Drive Great Dunes With easy beach access, this beach is conveniently located across from playgrounds, a mini-golf course and bike and Segway rentals. Therefore it is recommended that you read signage at each beach access point to confirm. St. Simons Island: Dogs are prohibited on the beach from the Saturday before Memorial Day through Labor Day 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. During allowable times and in non-summer months, dogs are allowed on any portion of the beach but must be in close proximity and under the immediate control of the owner/handler. If handler is unable to control pet via voice-command, a 10' leash is required. Owners must clean up after their pets. Dogs are permitted on the Pier provided that they are leashed at all times. Jekyll Island: Jekyll Island beach policies vary depending on which access point you use. Unless otherwise posted, dogs are allowed on the beach as long as they are under the owner's control or on a leash. Owners must clean up after their pet. Beach Safety Lifeguards are present from Memorial Day to Labor Day, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm daily at Coast Guard and Massengale beaches. SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Rip currents are common. If caught in a rip current, do not fight it, swim parallel to the shore until you are free of the current. Do not swim to the visible sand bars. The tide changes quickly and will submerge the sandbar, stranding swimmers in deep water.
